Notes:
*
Several visits by European artists are postpond due to SARS virus in
Asia. The support funds meant to cover airfares for the artists are
held back for the moment. ICECA fills the gap with resident artists and
expects several private funded visits.
ICECA's
Cultural Exchange program is an open on-going project.
Media
artists and institutions are welcome to contact us for future collaborative
art events in Thailand.
New
Media Library
ICECA
is ready with a collection of over 200 interactive works to install the
first new media art library in Thailand. More information <here>
New
Media Art Center
ICECA
is working towards establishing an international Center for Art and Media in
Thailand. As Thailand's government is taking steps towards IT large scale
oriented business, ICECA foresee the benefits of an artistic research center
to support the growing Thai interest in new media, and electronic art.
ICECA
is maintaining contact with various European institutions and works on
funding sources both from EU as well locally from Thailand's developing
programs and from IT companies.
New
Media Art Festival 2004
ICECA's
continous effort to introduce New Media Art since late 2001 and its recent
success with the Festival is now looking forward to organizing the next
new media art festival. With what we have learned in this festival we have
gathered experience and contacts to make it even better the next time.
The CMU Art Museum has already requested a report on what it will take
to install the New Media Festival in 2004.
New
Media Art Festival - The catalog
ICECA
is preparing the Festival's catalog to be published in 3 versions:
In the forma of a collectors item, an electronic magazine on CD-ROM and
a special edition in Thai language that will contain a comprehensive introduction
to aspects of new media and electronic art. This hand book format catalog
will serve as a resource for new media art making in Thailand and worldwide
for Thai readers.
